We are delighted to invite you to the e-Expert Seminar Series: Translation and Language Teaching (9th Edition), jointly organised by University College London (UK) and the University of Córdoba (Spain). This free hybrid event will take place on Monday, 22nd June 2026, and will focus on the theme of Boosting Mental Health and Embracing Neurodiversity in Translation and Modern Foreign Language Education.

In an increasingly demanding academic landscape, where well-being and inclusion are becoming central to educational practice, this seminar seeks to rethink how translation and language teaching can better support mental health and embrace neurodiversity. Bringing together established scholars, educators, and professional translators, this forward-looking event will explore inclusive pedagogies, innovative teaching practices, and supportive learning environments that respond to diverse cognitive profiles. It will also foster critical reflection on how higher education can promote both academic excellence and psychological well-being in the fields of Modern Foreign Languages and Translation Studies.

The International Conference on Research in Languages, Technology and Education aims to bring together researchers interested in the intersection between language teaching, active methodologies and technology.

The main objectives of the conference are: (1) to show how active methodologies and emerging technologies can promote the development of language skills; and (2) to encourage the exchange of original research addressing language teaching and education in diverse contexts from critical, inclusive and socially responsible perspectives.

We anticipate a collective reflection on key themes such as second language teaching, the evaluation of bilingual/multilingual programmes, translation and interpreting, and the application of artificial intelligence to language learning.

The Call for Papers can be accessed in the different languages of the conference: Spanish, English y French.

AI meets Language: 2nd International Seminar on Applied Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence

The international seminar AI meets Language 2 builds on the success of AI meets Language (2025), which was highly well received, and returns to provide a space for exchange and reflection on the emerging connections between applied linguistics and artificial intelligence (AI). In a context where natural language has become a central axis of technological developments, this event will bring together leading scholars from different universities to explore how AI tools are transforming language analysis.

It will be a hybrid event (held both online and in person) and free of charge for all attendees. It will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Arts at Universidad de Córdoba (Spain) and will feature six keynote lectures delivered by international experts in computational linguistics and natural language processing (NLP), machine translation, discourse analysis, language industry, terminology, and misinformation, addressing both theoretical foundations and the most recent applications of AI in language studies.

Finally, the seminar will include one roundtable discussion involving the speakers and other invited experts, providing a forum for questions and answers on the topics addressed throughout the event, as well as on the future of applied linguistics in relation to AI and its implications for research.

AI meets Language 2 is aimed at researchers, lecturers, master’s and postgraduate students, and professionals interested in the interdisciplinary intersection of language, technology, and society. The seminar will also offer an opportunity to strengthen academic networks and foster new lines of collaborative research.

6th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON CORPORA (PACOR 2027) Re-thinking Evidence: Corpus Linguistics in a Changing Language Landscape

The 6th International Symposium on Corpora (PACOR 2027) will be hosted by the Universidad de Córdoba from 25 to 27 January 2027. Organised by the research group LinguaCor (HUM-1144), PACOR is a biannual international conference dedicated to corpus research.

Since its first edition in Santiago de Compostela in 2016, originally focused on parallel corpora, PACOR has evolved into a broader forum for corpus linguistics and its intersections with translation, discourse studies, pedagogy and computational methods. Previous editions (Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Vitoria-Gasteiz, León and Valladolid) have fostered dynamic discussion among academics and specialists in corpus-assisted research.

Under the theme Re-thinking Evidence: Corpus Linguistics in a Changing Language Landscape, PACOR 2027 will explore how corpus linguistics is adapting to a rapidly changing research landscape shaped by AI-based resources, NLP tools and new technological advances. We particularly welcome contributions engaging with corpora and corpus-driven approaches in this evolving methodological and technological context.
